제목 Thermal properties of 1-docosanol based composites containing copper nanoparticles
초록 Organic phase change materials (PCMs) have been utilized for highly effective thermal energy management. However, the low thermal conductivity is its major drawback decreasing the heat transfer rate during melting and recrystallization. In this work, 25 nm copper nanoparticles (Cu NPs) were dispersed into 1-docosanol (DA) to produce Cu NPs-PCM composite (Cu-PCM) for thermal energy storage (TES) with high thermal conductivity. In such a composite, DA serves as latent heat storage material and Cu NPs acts thermally conductive materials. Well dispersed Cu NPs acts as heterogeneous nuclei, has strong interaction with DA molecules. As a result, thermal properties such as the thermal conductivity and supercooling are significantly enhanced. Moreover, unexpected solid – metastable solid (S – Sm) phase transitions appeared during the melting process of the Cu-PCMs which had a beneficial effect on the amount of latent heat.
