제목 | Organometallic Synthesis of New Soluble, Coplanar Poly(naphthalene-2,6-diyl)-Type pi-Conjugated Polymer, Poly(pyrimido[5,4-d]pyrimidine-2,6-diyl), with Nitrogens Atoms at All of the o-Positions |
초록 | Various pi-conjugated poly(arylene)s with regulated bonding between monomeric units have been prepared by organometallic dehalogenative polymerization. In cases of some five-membered ring heterocyclic homopolymers such as polythiophene, formation of a coplanar structure is possible for the polymers. For six-membered ring pi-conjugated polymers (e.g., polypyridine and poly(naphthalene-2,6-diyl)), however, the formation of a coplanar structure is usually hindered by o-hydrogen repulsion. New n-type pi-conjugated poly(pyrimido[5,4-d]pyrimidine-2,6-diyl)s with N atoms at all of the four o-positions were prepared by dehalogenative polycondensation using a zerovalent nickel complex. The polymer is free from the o-H repulsion and soluble in organic solvents. The polymer is considered to have a coplanar pi-conjugated main chain and a strong tendency to form a pi-stacked structure. Unique optical properties, self-assembling phenomena, and redox behavior of the obtained polymers were investigated. |
