Preparation and swelling behaviors of semi-IPN hydrogels composed of PEI and PLGA. |
초록 |
As the biomedical materials, poly (D,L-lactic-co-glycolide) (PLGA) and poly(ethyleneimine) (PEI) have been used as a scaffold in tissue engineering and a nonviral gene carrier, respectively. In this study, the semi-interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) hydrogels composed of PLGA and PEI were prepared to have synergistic effects in the mechanical property and the charged sites which can bind the oppositely charged agents. In addition, their swelling behaviors of the semi-IPN hydrogels were investigated in various pH conditions. The characterizations of semi-IPN hydrogels were investigated using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Results from the water state and thermal stability revealed that the introduction of the PEI increased the equilibrium water content due to hydrophilic properties of PEI and the crosslink of PEI increased the thermal stability. The biodegradation rates were controlled by adjusting PEI contents and cross-linking ratio. In addition, the semi-IPN hydrogels showed pH sensitivity in swelling behaviors because of the amino groups of the PEI. In the surface analysis of the hydrogel, the amine contents on the surface increased with PEI mixing ratio. Thus, we expect the semi-IPN hydrogel composed of PLGA and PEI can be used as the biomaterials for the preparing the scaffold containing cations which can attach anionic agents. |
