Microencapsulation of dicyclopentadiene via in situ polymerization |
초록 |
Microcapsules containing liquid dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) were synthesized via the in situ polymerization method using urea-formaldehyde (U-F) as a wall material. Microencapsulated healing agents that possess adequate strength, long shelf-life and excellent bonding to the host material are required for self-healing materials. Microcapsules of 5–100 µm in diameter were produced by appropriate selection of agitation rate in the range of 500–5000 rpm. The mean diameters of the microcapsules were decreaced with increasing stirring rate. The particle size of microcapsues depend on droplet size of DCPD emulsion. |
