Micropatterning of surface is gaining importance in various applications ranging from biosensors to microfluidics. Here, we introduce a very simple polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) pattern-transfer method, called inkless micro-contact printing (IL-µCP), to generate dually functionalized patterns. The substrate was chemically and topographically patterned to give silicon oxide and gold patterns using IL-µCP. Such patterns can be modified with two different chemical functionalities to position various molecular components selectively on the specific areas. We demonstrate the IL-µCP technique is appropriate to fabricate dually functionalized patterns for the selective adsorption of biomolecules. This patterning technique can be useful for a high throughput process in biosensor and array applications. |
