Ni-substituted ferrite (NixFe3-xO4) nanoparticle-coated zeolite (NiFZ) was prepared and used to remove of heavy metal ions (Cu(Ⅱ), Cr(Ⅱ), Zn(Ⅱ), Sr(Ⅱ)) in aqueous solution. Synthesis of the NiFZ was carried out using a facile solvothermal method. The prepared NiFZ was characterized using XRD, TEM, and SEM analyses. The effect of growth time of NixFe3-xO4 nanoparticle on heavy metal ions adsorption was investigated. In addition, the Langmuir isotherm and Freundlich isotherm were fitted to the experimental data and the pseudo-first and pseudo-second rate equations were employed to model the adsorption kinetics of heavy metal ions from aqueous solution using pristine zeolite and prepared NiFZ. |
