제목 | Probing Brain Tumor Cell Properties in Different Cell-culturing Environments |
초록 | For decades, scientists have been using two dimensional (2D) culture technique which is easy to handle, maintain and analysis cell growth. It makes biologists study cells and tissues easier, and gives the fundamental biological information. With these reasons, 2D cell culture has proven indispensable for a variety of applications ranging from research to industrial perspectives. Most tumor studies also rely on the analysis of cells grown in 2D cell culture. However, these models failed to reconstitute the in vivo cellular microenvironment. As a result, it showed different characteristics from the in vivo model. To fully understand the nature of the tumor, it is important to study in environments that are similar to complex biological conditions. In this study, we have attempted a variety of cell culture platforms including a microfluidic shear stress cell culture model, and a cell culture environment of intracellular 3D spheroids to overcome the limitations of traditional 2D cell culture and mimic more close in vivo conditions. |
