Surface modification with stimuli-responsive polymer is one of the interesting fiedls in these days, which can bestow special functions such as hydrophilicity, hydrophobicity or anit-fouling property to the bulk materials. Up to date, flat and exposed surfaces have been the attractive substrate of modification for its convenience to handle, however, surfaces with nanostructure or nanopatterning are getting more attention recently. In spite of the increaseing interest, the way of modification was largely limited to CVD or SIP. Here, we suggest the simple wet coating method fo functionalize the nano sized anodized aluminium oxide membrane with DOPA-conjugated PNIPAam. This effective wet coating with PNIPAam gives the pore positive and negative membrane gating properties accordign to the ratio of polymer chain length to pore size. In addition, it is expected to be utilized as the micro biosensors for regulation the rate of fluid or on-off systems. |
