Aligned microporous materials have been used in various applications but the current fabrication processes of the materials have unsolved limitations such as limited controlling pore alignment and high energy cost. We demonstrated a generic and cheap (Directional Crystallization, controlling the directional growth of solvent crystals followed by a solvent removal step such as sublimation) as a novel method for efficient manufacturing of unique aligned materials [1]. In here, we introduce to aligned porous materials produced by this technique and a variety of pores morphology which can be obtained through this process such as thickness-through, lamellar structure. The key advantage of this method is the fact that it can be easily adaptable to polymer, inorganic and hybrid system. By understanding the controlling parameters of the crystallization process in depth, this study offers insights on the potentialities and limits of the technique. |
