Poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) star polymer with gold nanoparticle (NP) core was synthesized by coupling reaction of thiol terminated P3HT and gold NP. For this, thiol group terminated P3HT (P3HT-SH) first was synthesized by GrignardGRIM followed by modification of the end group. Obtained well-defined P3HT-SHs with differenct molecluar weights (PDI < 1.3) were then complexed with gold NP, where the thiol group of the P3HT exchagned the oleic amine group of the gold NP, to give P3HT star polymer with gold NP core, which were charaterized by SEC, 1H NMR, FT-IR, UV-vis, PL, TEM, and DSC analyses. These were then applied for OPV and OFET. |
