Nanoparticles prepared from polypyrrole with high conductivity and good thermal stability have unique electronic and optical properties. Thus polypyrrole nanoparticles have received much attention as promising candidates for nano-sized transistors, displays and building blocks of nano-scale electronics. Generally, polypyrrole nanoparticles have been synthesized by using template method and microemulsion method. Products prepared by the template method intend to form the much aggregated or clustered nanoparticles and furthermore they are needed the removal of the template. Although microemulsion method using surfactant can produce the separated nanoparticles, the problem of removal of surfactant on the surface of nanoparticle has been still remained. In this work, we aimed at preparing the unagglomerated polypyrrole nanoparticles using novel and facile synthetic method without the need for templates or surfactants. Furthermore the average diameter of the nanoparticles can be controlled using the various organic solvents as observed via scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). |
