In this study, we synthesized mesoporous silica powder and film with well ordered hexagonal structure and modified mesoporous silica surface with amino silane successfully. Then, Eu complex was incorporated in the modified mesoporous silica. The structure of mesoporous silica was fully characterized by X-ray diffraction patterns, transmission electron micrograph (TEM) image, and nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherms. The successful incorporation of amino silane was verified by FT-IR spectra. UV-visible spectra and fluorescence spectra were measured in various organic solvents to verify the special optical properties of the Eu incorporated mesoporous silica. These properties show the possibility of application of Eu incorporated mesoporous silica as a sensor for organic solvents. |
