제목 | Preparation of polypropylene (PP) / clay nanocomposites with PP-g-SAN copolymer as a compatibilizer |
초록 | Many researchers have been interesed in the clay nanocomposite because of its good mechanical, thermal and dimensional properties. In this study, polypropylene (PP) / clay nanocomposites were prepared in a twin screw extruder by the melt intercalation method. In order to increase the compatibility of PP with the clay, the PP-g-SAN copolymer was used as a compatibilizer. The PP-g-SAN copolymer is composed of PP(70 wt%) and SAN(30 wt%), where SAN is grafted on PP. And organic clays (C1, C2) were used as a nanometric filler during the melt extrusion. From the measurement of WAXD pattern, disordered structure of clay layers was exhibited in the PP / PP-g-SAN / organic clay nanocomposite. And, this nanocomposite showed good thermal, mechanical and rheological properties compared a neat PP.
