Polymeric organic semiconductors with long distance between alkylchains have been designed, synthesized, and characterized. The newly designed polymeric semiconductors are expected to have high FET mobility due to the increased π-stacking and interdigitation. The polymers were prepared by the cross-coupling reaction of dibromothiophene oligomers and some boron and tin compounds. All intermediates and target polymers were characterized by elemental analysis and various spectroscopic methods. It was found that the polymers have a higher oxidative stability than poly(3-alkylthiophene) from the view of HOMO level. From DSC thermogram and AFM, and XRD of the obtained film, the resulting polymers were found to be crystalline and thermally stable up to 400 °C. In solution processed OTFT devices, maximum charge carrier mobility of 0.12 cm2/Vs, on/off ratio of about 105 are observed. |
