제목 Thin films of Diblock Copolymers with Carboxylic Acid-Functionalized Nanochannels
초록 There has been intensive research on the preparation of thin films of diblock copolymers with hexagonally ordered cylinders perpendicular to the substrate to utilize them for nanotemplates, nanochannels, nanolithography, etc. For example, thin film with nanochannels fabricated with diblock copolymers can be further used for deposition of functional inorganic materials.
In this study, we fabricated thin film of polystyrene-b-poly(t-butyl acrylate), PS-b-PtBA, diblock copolymers synthesized by anionic polymerization. Hexagonally ordered cylinders of the PtBA block were dispersed in the matrix of the PS block and were oriented perpendicular to the substrate by solvent treatment. Then, the PtBA block was hydrolyzed to the poly(acrylic acid), PAA, block. Moreover, the hydrolysis resulted in nanochannels due to removal of t-butyl groups. Thus, we obtained thin films with carboxylic acid-functionalized nanochannels that were perpendicular to the substrate. This film can be effectively used for deposition of inorganic materials. The film was characterized by FTIR, TEM, and AFM.
