제목 VUV Characteristics of BaAl12O19:Mn Green Phosphor Particles Prepared by Spray Pyrolysis
초록 Mn-doped BaAl12O19 oxide is know to be a promising green phosphor for plasma display panels (PDPs). In this work, the spray pyrolysis was applied to make an high photo luminance BaAl12O19:Mn phosphor particles under the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) illumination. In order to improve the photoluminescence intensity, some fluxes were used. It was found that some LiCl addition greatly improves the photoluminescence intensity of BaAl12O19:Mn phosphor particles when they were prepared by spray pyrolysis. The morphology of BaAl12O19:Mn phosphor particles was also controlled by changing the state of spray solutions, which have been prepared from some nitrate-type precursors. In general spray pyrolysis, the particles obtained with a aqueous solution, which is prepared by only dissolving the nitrate precursor in the water, have a hollow structure that is known to be a fatal disadvantage and not good for make a good phosphor layer in PDPs. To overcome this disadvantage, in this work, the spray solution was chemically modified to produce a spherical particle.
