The preparation and characterization of solid state DSSCs (dye-sensitized solar cells) employing polymer electrolytes are presented, in particular, the effect of the ionic conductivity of the polymer electrolyte on the photocurrent and the overall energy conversion efficiency will be emphasized. Interestingly the threshold ionic conductivity was observed, below which the ionic conductivity would be a determining step of the energy conversion efficiency, but above which other than the ionic conductivity may play a dominant role. The threshold concentration was also analyzed. |
