제목 Synthesis of Bis(chelate) Metal(Ⅱ) Complexes Containing Various Substituents on the Aryl Ring and the Polymerization of Methylmethacrylate Thereby
초록 Conventional Ziegler-Natta catalysts, as well as metallocene/methylaluminoxane (MAO) systems are very active in olefin polymerization but usually unable to promote the polymerization of polar vinyl monomers, such as acrylates and methacrylates because of their capacity to interact with heteroatoms such as nitrogen or oxygen which contain nonbonded eletron pairs.
Since Brookhart reported a-diimine ligand catalyst which can be used as a catalyst for the polymerization of polar monomers, many experiments about this have been carried out. In this study, we synthesized various bis(chelate) late transition metal(Ⅱ) complexes by introducing various substituents on the aryl ring and by utilizing different metal center on them, and polymerized methylmethacrylate by using these complexes in the presence of methylaluminoxane (MAO). We investigated how the steric effect of ligands, metals selected and polymerization conditions influences on the yield, stereoregularity, and thermal properties of the polymer.
The resulting polymers were analysized by using 13C-NMR, DSC and GPC.
