We have investigated the characteristics of transparent ITO/Ag/ITO and IZO/Ag/IZO multilayer electrode grown on a PES substrate using a roll-to-roll sputtering system for use in flexible organic solar cells. Both ITO/Ag/ITO and IZO/Ag/IZO multilayer electrodes show a significantly sheet resistance and resistivity with increasing thickness of Ag. At optimized condition, both multilayer electrode show very low resistance (lower then 6ohm/sq) and high transmittance (higher then 87 %). Moreover, both multilayer electrode exhibited superior flexibility than RTR sputter grown single ITO electrode due to existence ductile Ag layer between oxide layers. Furthermore, the flexible organic solar cells fabricated on the RTR grown multilayer electrode showed higher power efficiency than the OSCs fabricated on RTR grown single ITO electrode. This indicates that the RTR sputtered multilayer is a promising flexible electrode that can substitute conventional single ITO electrode grown by bath type or RTR sputtering for low cost flexible OPVs. |
