pH-Sensitive hydrogels are of particular interest in controlled drug delivery. Hydroxypropylmethacrylate (HPMA)-based hydrgels are one of the most widely used. The goal in this study is to manipulate the swelling/deswelling and drug release behaviors of HPMA-based hydrogels by controlling the physical and chemical properties of the copolymer network. Different hydrogels were prepared by free radical copolymerization of HPMA and DMA (N,N'-dimethylethylaminomethacrylate). Swelling characteristics and drug release profiles were investigated as a function of pH values. |
