제목 Tethered Lipid Bilayer Coated Titanium Surfaces for Sustained Nitric Oxide Release
초록 Controlled release of nitric oxide (NO) is considered as one of promising approaches for overcoming stent implantation-related restenosis and thrombosis. The aim of this study is to investigate the potential use of solid-tethered lipid bilayer (TLB) for coating of a medical device with a lipophilic NO donor incorporated within the phospholipid bilayer, ultimately to achieve the controlled and sustained release rate of NO. The NO releasing TLB membranes were prepared via two steps as following; 1) tethering phospholipids on a metal surface and 2) fusing NO donor containing liposomes with the lipids pre-tethered on the surface. NO release profiles and periods were controlled and sustained up to 24 hrs. In vitro cell study demonstrated that controlled NO release enhanced endothelial cell proliferation. Consequently, these results suggest a potential for the practical application to TLB coating of biomedical devices including vascular stents.
