Differentiation of Bone Marrow Stem Cell using co-culture system with Olfactory Ensheathing Cell |

We examined the feasibility of using BMSCs as a source of stem cells for the differentiation as OECs by co-culture approach. OECs and BMSCs were cultured as control group. The experimental group designed that OECs were transferred on transwell and insert this OECs culturing were co-cultured with BMSCs attached on 6 well bottem. Another experimental group cultured BMSCsin OEC-derived conditioned medium. The expression of S-100, P75 were characterized by immunocytochemistry. OECs showed spindle-shape and while often with one or more branched processes bipolar, multipolar. BMSC presented big cell body and short prosess. BMSCs co-cultured with OECs had shirinked morphology compared to the control. Some BMSCs showed spindle-like when BMSCs were co-cultured with OECs during 21days. These findings are relevant and could be helpful for the development of the cell-based therapeutic strategies for CNS repair.
