Micro cylindrical polyprrole actuator and its linear actuation |

Electro-active polymer (EAP) actuators have attracted great attention of their high strength and large strain. The research object was focused on the preparation of cylinderical actuator using PPy and its actuation like a piston-motion. Electropolymerization of pyrrole was carried out in capillary equipped with a gold anode and a platinum wire cathode in the presentation of p-toluenesulfonic acid. The volume change of the cylindrical PPy actuator was measured in various electrolytes during oxidation and reduction using by a potentiostatgalvanostat. |
