In this paper, we choose Silica (SiO2) and 3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,9,9,10,10,10-Heptadecafluorodecyl methacrylate(HDFDMA) as raw materials, which are of low-surface-energy. 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propylmethacrylate (MPS) is indeed a good coupling agent to modify inorganic particles. Furthermore, the end group of MPS is C=C, when MPS hydrolyzed and grafted to SiO2, the C=C group can be reacted with styrene through in-situ polymerization. First of all, MPS-SiO2 nanoparticles are obtained via sol-gel method. Afterwards, SiO2/HDFDMA dispersions were fabricated via Thiol-lactam initiated radical polymerization (TIRP). Finally, SiO2/HDFDMA core/shell composites with hydrophobic properties were prepared. By spincoating the dispersion with Fluorinated Silica Nano-composites and general binder onto the substrate, a hydrophobic surface is obtained. |
