Use of ozone-treated sludge as a carbon source for biological phosphorus removal |
초록 |
Supernatant of ozone as an external carbon addition into the sludge layer during settling and decanting were adopted to induce phosphorus release from low organic strength sewage in a modified IDEA process. Denitrification and phosphorus removal after external carbon injection showed linear relationships with carbon source increase. Extremely high addition of external carbon resulted in almost complete removal of nitrogen and phosphorus. The ozonolysate injected operation showed similar effects of water quality improvement as acetate addition in terms of nitrogen removal. Phosphorus release was highly dependent on types of carbon. However, disintegrated sludge showed the potential use of carbon source for phosphorus removal and it was confirmed in track studies. |
