Synthesis and characterization of amphiphilic block copolymers with phospholipid polymer sequences will be presented. Phospholipids are a component of lipid bilayers comprising cell membranes, which are of great interest in biological fields. In the present work biomimetic monomer, 2-methacryloyloxyethylphosphorylcholie (MPC) which has phospholipid component is used as hydrophilic monomer. Amphiphilic block copolymers with MPC are prepared using reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer polymerization (RAFT) or atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). The resulted copolymers are characterized using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), and Elemental Analysis (EA). Further, the prepared amphiphilic block copolymers will be used as a vesicles for drug delivery. |
