To create ordered three-dimensional structures with functionalized nanoparticle has been attracted as a next-generation electronic, optical, and magnetic materials and devices. Metal nanoparticle arrays have been fabricated by multi-step methods containing the aggregation process of passivated nanoparticles. Here we report a direct self-assembly of metal nanoparticles using anionic surfactants as a structure-directing agent. The assemblies, three dimensionally ordered arrays of metal nanoparticles, are easily prepared, highly ordered, and morphology-controllable. Anionic surfactant molecules with metal cations self-assemble to form a mesophase. |
