Titanium dioxide shows antibacterial properties in the presence of light due to the chemical phenomenon triggered by the photo generated electrons and holes. However, in the absence of light it shows little or no antibacterial properties. In this work, we synthesized TiO2-CNT heterostructured materials. These hybrid materials show antibacterial properties in the absence of light. Antibacterial properties and cytoxicity of these materials were profoundly studied. The synthesized materials were characterized by XRD, Raman spectroscopy, SEM, TEM, FTIR and nitrogen gas phsyiosorption studies. Investigations on the effects of CNT doping on the materials properties were carried out |
