Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) containing an azide functional group (-N3) has the advantage that it can be applied to various fields as it can introduce a desired functional group through an azide-alkyne click reaction. Moreover, if the content of the functional group to be introduced into the TPU can be controlled, a TPU capable of controlling not only the type of functional group but also the amount can be prepared. Therefore, we prepared Poly(ECH-co-THF)diol (PET), a polyol which Cl group content is adjustable by controlling the ratio of Epichlorohydrin (ECH), a cyclic ether having a Cl group, and Tetrahydrofuran (THF), another cyclic ether. Then, through azidation, the Cl group of this polyol was substituted with an N3 group to prepare Poly(GAP-co-THF)diol (PGT). Through polyurethane formation reaction with PGT, 1,4-Butanediol (1,4-BDO), and 4,4'-Diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI), finally, azido-TPU with adjustable azide content was prepared. |
