Synthesis and Characterization of MnFe2O4 Nanoparticles by a Reverse Micelle |

The preparation of MnFe2O4 nanoparticles by the reduction of Manganese(Ⅱ) nitrate hexahydrate and iron nitrate nonahydrate with hydrazine in Igepal CO-520/cyclohexane reverse micelle solutions has been studied. Transmission Electron Microscope(TEM), X-ray Diffraction(XRD), and Vibration Sample Magnetometer(VSM) analyses revealed the resultant nanoparticles to be a MnFe2O4. The average size of the synthesized nanoparticles increased molar ratio of water to Igepal CO-520 and with increasing concentration of Manganese(Ⅱ) nitrate hexahydrate and iron nitrate nonahydrate. |
