제목 High throughput detection method of lactonase activity by colorimetric assay method
초록 Homoserine lactones and γ-Butyrolactones are well recognized as bacterial hormone and quorum sensing molecule in Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria. So far,many researches on those molecules have been performed as a potential next generation drug target and the answers to many mysterious cell-to-cell communication phenomena. And the finding of new lactonases, which could interrupt cell-to-cell communication by hydrolyzing lactone molecules, could give us more interest and solution to unanswered problems. So far, lactonase activity itself could be obtained by pH change and bioassay, but pH change method needed large quantity of samples, and bioassay method, which could detect at the very low limit, needed long period of time and procedures, and specialized strains to detect. Here, we report the first introduction of colorimetric assay method for quorum related lactone moleclues and lactonase activity, this method could be introduced to detect the activity and quantity of lactone compounds very quickly and easily.
