Mesoporous carbons, CMK-1 and CMK-3 were prepared with MCM-48 and SBA-15 as a silica template and sucrose as a carbon precursor. The Co catalysts supported on mesoporous carbons were prepared with Co(NO3)2·6H2O. For comparison, commercial activated carbon (Darco G-60) and alumina (γ-Al2O3) were used as a support for Co supported catalysts in thiophene HDS. Mesoporous carbon supported catalysts showed the higher activity than activated carbon and alumina supported catalysts. The characterization of the catalysts was carried out by XRD, BET, SEM, TEM, EDS, FTIR and CO chemisorption. |
