제목 Electrodeposited CoMo Catalyst for acidic Hydrogen Evolution Reaction
초록 Development of alternative renewable and clean energy has been conducted to lessen the global warming resulted from indiscriminate use of fossil fuels. Hydrogen is known as an environmental-friendly energy source and the hydrogen production can be clean with water electrolysis method using electricity from renewable energy source. The most effective catalyst for HER is Pt, however its scarcity and high cost limit widespread applications. To solve this problem, various transition metals have been investigated as catalysts for HER.

CoMo were fabricated on carbon paper by using electrodeposition method. Due to electrochemical oxidation of CoMo deposits in potential window for the HER measurement in acidic electrolyte, selected leaching on Co and Mo was applied varying potential and time. The optimized CoMo catalyst demonstrates the HER overpotential. The origin of high catalytic performance can be explained by enlarged electrochemical surface area after the leaching process.
