Increasing polylactide properties through stereocomplex formation promising wider application for the future. Because of that, it is necessary to find out the new method for continuous processing with availability of additive addition. We are the first reported that supercritical fluid technology can obtained s-PLA within very short time (1 minute), resulted in dry product, and suitable for molecular weight (Mw) 70,000 160,000 or higher. The changing of material feed did not affect the properties of produced s-PLA. The material continuity, effective process, dry product, availability for high-molecular-weight, and also possibility of additive addition makes the supercritical fluid is potentially available for continuous process of stereocomplex polylactide formation. |
