Fluorescent conjugated polymers which have unique optoelectronic properties have been generally researched about their potential applications in the fields of optoelectronics, microelectronics, and chemical and biological sensors. Among numerous indicators, rhodamine 6G is one of the excellent candidate for fluorescent sensor due to their large molar absorption coefficients, strong fluorescence and ligation property with metal ion. Rhodamine 6G is generally used in biotechnology applications, such as fluorescence microscopy. Herein, we designed and synthesized a new polymer which is functionalized with rhodamine 6G as a pendant. The polymer was synthesized by Suzuki-cross-coupling reaction. The rhodamine 6G pendant was incorporated to the polymer using EDC-NHS reaction process. When the rhodamine 6G ligated with metal ions in solution, its fluorescence was significantly increased. Finally, we studied on the metal ion detection in aqueous media using the conjugated polymers prepared . |
