제목 | MANUFATURING THE CUPROUS OXIDE THIN FILMS BY ELECTRODEPOSITION FOR PHOTOVOLTAIC APPLICATIONS |
초록 | One of the goals of new photovoltaic cells implementation is to reduce the cost of energy generation to an amount that can be comparable to the conventional electric enery. This may be possible to achieve by photovoltaic devices that based on cheap materials and low-cost fabrication methods. In the last few years, the devices based entirely on metal oxides have been emerged as the promissing alternatives. Among the different options, Cu2O its potential candidature due to non-toxic nature, earth abundant, high mobility, direct energy band gap(~2.1 eV) and cheap production. On the other hand, electrodepostion is a well-known technique for the synthesis of Cu2O thin films. Although it has been applied often for the fabrication of oxide solar cells, a systematic properties study of the Cu2O film with the depostion conditions has not been reported till date, especilly in the ontext of photovoltaic applications. Futhermore, the performance has often been low and inconsistent for the solar cells that consist of electrodeposited Cu2O thin films. Thus, the main objective of this study is to optimize the properties of electrodeposited p-type Cu2O film for solar cell applications. In this research, the Cu2O films were deoposited by electrodeposition method on Au/SiO2/Si subtrates. We varied depostion of solution bath, temperature, potentials, and currents to find the optimal conditions for uniformed depostion of Cu2O thin films. Thereafter, we investigated the performance of Cu2O thin film based solar cell according to set up same conditions of the buffer layer and TCO layer. In the future works, we will investigate the influence of buffer layer's condition by atomic layer depostion and TCO layer's condition by sputtering on the performance of Cu2O thin film based solar cell. |
