Improvement in mechanical properties and thermal stability of epoxy composites using PES |
초록 |
To investigate the influence of the addition of poly(ether sulfone) (PES) to epoxy resin, this study evaluated the use of PES as reinforcement to increase the mechanical and thermal properties of epoxy resin. According to addition of various contents PES, the tensile, flexible and impact strength of the PES/epoxy composites were increased about 11%, 13% and 13%, respectively, than those of unmodified resin. Also, thermal stability of the PES/epoxy composites was improved 12%, which is calculated with integral procedural decomposition temperature (IPDT). The curing behavior of PES/epoxy composites was observed in differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and the curing temperature and curing heat decrease according to increase of PES contents.
