In this study, we synthesized novel copolymers based on polyaspartamide containing dopamine (DOP) group which has been known for the ability to form strong adhesive bonds to both inorganic and organic surfaces in aqueous environments. Adhesion and oxidative crosslinking of DOP-conjugated polymers can provide a way to modify various material surfaces including synthetic polymer, metals, metal oxides, ceramics in alkaline aqueous environment. Here we demonstrate a versatile coating for material-independent surface modification using polyaspartamides conjugated with DOP, The surface coating was characterized by XPS, contact angle measurement, and FTIR. Cytotoxicity of modified surface was also elucidated from the cell viability by MTT assay. |
