Synthesis and Photophysical Property of Water-soluble Porphyrin-Fullerene[C60] Dyads |

Water-soluble donor-acceptor complexes of fullerenes C60 with tetraphenylporphyrins(TPP) in which triethylene glycol dendron(TEG-dendron) was incorporated to enhance water-solubility, have been synthesized. The complexes are fully purified with chromatographic separation using silica and GPC columns followed by 1H-NMR and MALDI-TOF-MS. UV-vis absorption and fluoroscence emission spectroscopic data showed that the photoinduced electron transfer from TPP to fullerene C60 occurs with high efficiency in aqueous mediums, although there are weak electronic interactions between fullerene C60 and TPP. |
