Superhydrophobic coatings with light-responsive deicing performance based on polydopamine nanoparticle/polyurethane hybrids |
초록 |
Superhydrophobic surfaces with water contact angle lager than 150˚ and low sliding angles less than 10˚ have attracted significant attentions. Inorganic nanoparticle/polymer hybrids have been used to fabricate the superhydrophobic coatings with high durability and mechanical properties. In this study, polydopamine nanoparticles with a size of about 200 nm having long-chain alkyl groups on their surface, which was synthesized by self-polymerization of dopamine in water/ethanol medium and subsequent surface modification with octadecyl amine, were employed to fabricate superhydrophobic coating materials using polyurethane as a matrix polymer. PDA/PU hybrids were coated onto aluminum substrate by spray- or dip-coating. The coated surface exhibited high water contact angle of 150˚ with excellent deicing performance on exposure to near-IR due to photothermal effect of the PDA nanoparticles. |
