Synthesis and Characterization of Spiro and Truxene-linked Oligofluorenes as Novel Materials for Application in Organic Light Emitting Diodes. |

The presented work involves the synthesis and properties of new blue light emitting oligofluorene derivatives. Two electroluminescent (EL) compounds containing 9,9'-spirobifluorene (SP) and Tribromohexahexyltruxene (TR) as a π-center and bis(2-ethylhexyl)fluorene (SF) as side group were synthesized. The EL spectra for SF2-SP-SF2, SF-TR-SF were observed at 448 nm and 447 nm, respectively. The structure of EL device was ITO/PEDOT:PSS/EML(50nm)/BAlq(20nm)/LiF(1nm)/ Al(200nm). The effect of change in π-center in the materials constituting the electroluminescent layer of organic light-emitting diodes have been studied with an aim to improve the device efficiency. The EL efficiency of the devices were found to be (0.94cd/A) and (0.25cd/A) for blue emission with a Commission Internationale d’Eclairage (CIEx,y) coordinates of (0.151,0.083) and (0.163,0146), respectivly. |
