The nanostructures of block copolymers are of great importance since they are useful for fabrication of nanocomposites with the functional materials such as metal nanoparticles, quantum dots and single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs). In this presentation, we describes novel methods to fabricate thin composite films with the functional nanomaterials based on spin coating of which various electro-optical properties are controlled, including surface plasmon absorption from metallic nanoparticles, electro-luminescence from quantum dots and electrical resistance from SWNTs. For instance, Au and Ag nanoparticles are effectively coupled with each other due to position selective deposition of both nanoparticles on a self assembled block copolymer structure, leading to nanocomposites with tunable coupled SPR of the two NPs. In addition, our recent effort for developing ordered porous nanostructures is demonstrated, based on supra-assembly of end-functionalized polymer blends. |
