제목 | AuCu-Based Trimetallic Catalysts for gas phase CO2 to CO Electrolyzer |
초록 | With the widespread use of fossil fuels, the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere has increased, leading to environmental problems such as global warming. The electrochemical CO2 reduction is promising because the CO2 can be converted into useful products such as CO, HCOOH, CH4, and CH3OH. An attractive product is CO, owing to its higher market price than other products. The CO2 electolyzer, by applying the zero-gap membrane electrode assembly (MEA) structure, the ohmic resistance has been minimized owing to elimination of electrolyte layer. Herein, AuCuIn catalysts were fabricated on carbon paper using electrodeposition method. Trimetallic catalysts were fabricated by adding one more transition metal (e.g. In, Mo and Fe). The AuCuIn catalysts were used as cathode for electrochemical CO2 conversion. At a certain condition, CO Faradaic efficiency of ~90 % was achieved in H-type cell. Furthermore, the AuCuIn catalyst demonstrate the superior performance in MEA-based CO2 electrolyzer. |
