Electrospinning as an efficient and versatile technique has been used for the fabrication of polymer nanofibers in recent years. Various materials, such as polymers, inorganic materials and hybrid materials, have been successfully electrospun into ultrafine fibers in solvent solution or in melt form. In this work, trans-polyisoprene was used to generate nanofibers by electrospinning method. There was no investigator to present publications on electrospun nanofibers of trans-polyisoprene prior to this study. The parameters and morphology of electrospinning TPI fibers were investigated. Smooth and uniform nanofibers can be generated at the optimum condition: concentration 1%, voltage 15KV, tip-to-collector distance 15cm and inject rate 4ml/h. There exists crystalline forms transformation in the TPI fibers during the electrospining process, transforming the β form to α form. |
