Activated silver nanoparticles can react with olefin selectively and reversibly and they can be used as a carrier at facilitated transport olefin membrane.1, 2 For that purpose, the surface of silver nanoparticles should be partially positively charged by polarizer, such as ionic liquid or TCNQ (7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane). Positive charge of Ag NP surface can be investigated by binding energy using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). In this work, the relationship between binding energy and propylene adsorption on the positively induced surface of nanoparticles will be discussed. Also, the interactions between silver nanoparticles and TCNQ will be presented. 1. S. W. Kang, K. Char and Y. S. Kang, Chemistry of Materials, 2008, 20, 1308-1311. 2. I. S. Chae, S. W. Kang, J. Y.
