제목 | Electrospinning of Heat Resistant Polymer Fibers |
초록 | Since 1934, the electrospinning has been used as a method producing polymer fibers a few microns. Recently, major advancements have successfully reduced the fiber diameter to the range of tens of nanometers. With these advancements, many industries have begun to take note of the endless possibilities using these fibers, such as membranes, tissue skeleton, etc. Electrospun fibers are produced by the electrospinning process where a high voltage applied between a polymer solution and a ground plate. Currently, many studies on the optimization of electrospinning process have been addressed. The process can be controlled by varying the electrospinning parameters, such as polymer solution concentration, applied voltage and tip to collector distance. Poly (imides) were selected as a model polymer, in this work, due to its heat resistant nature. Analytical techniques including SEM, thermal analysis, FT-IR were used to characterize raw materials and the morphology of spun fibers.
