Comb-like fluoropolymers having oxyethylene and styrene backbone were prepared and surface characterizations were performed using contact angle, near edge X-ray absorption fine structure, and grazing incidence X-ray diffraction. From the surface characterizations, we have found that fluoropolymers having oxyethylene backbone have well ordered structures and show lower surface energy than styrene backbone polymers. Furthermore, we also discuss the potential of these polymers for the anti-fouling applications. |
