Effects of carbon crystallization of polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fibers on glucose biosensor |

The polyacrylonitrile-based nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning and heat-treatment as a glucose sensor material. The heat-treatment was carried out at various temperatures to investigate the effects of carbon crystallization for sensitivity. The glucose oxides were coated on the surface of prepared carbon nanofibers to detect glucose by oxidation reaction. The change of electrical resistance was measured by current-voltage curves based on the electrochemical reaction between glucose oxides and glucose. It was noted that the concentration of glucose can be measured based on obtained electrochemical results. Crystallites and high electrical conductivity of carbon formed by heat treatment were contributed to the high sensitivity of glucose sensor. Eventually, the highly sensitive glucose sensor could be prepared by carbon nanofibers with highly crystallized carbon structures. |
