Organic semiconductors based on π-conjugated polymers are attractive for organic optoelectronics due to their easily tunable band-gap properties, mechanical flexibility, solution processed device fabrication, etc. However, obtaining high performance organic polymers, for example with high charge transport properties, is challenging. Herein, we describe two new conjugated copolymer based on [1]benzothieno[3,2-b]benzothiophene (BTBT) and perylene/naphthalene diimide derivatives. Although, BTBT has been well explored as a small molecule for high performance FET devices, their performance in a copolymer is hardly known. FET devices fabricated from these polymers showed n-type behavior with significantly improved mobility compared with those of other copolymers made of PDI/NDI units. Clearly, BTBT has a distinct role for the significant improvement of mobility in such polymers. Therefore, these polymers can find useful applications in various FET devices as well as in organic solar cells. |
