We have studied cellular behaviors on the surface with polymer coatings that are fabricated in nano-structured films. Nano-porous polymer films were fabricated for a membrane in microfluidic device. We utilized layer-by-layer deposition of polyelectrolytes including natural polymers or gelation of reactive monomers (sol-gel) to create 3D networked nano-porous films. These nano-porous films were examined for cell culture system, i.e. evaluation of cyto-toxicity and cell proliferation, etc., and characterized for their physical properties. This new porous material may have a great potential in biochip application. |
